Stock Alerts

Notify customers about directly low inventory levels to drive scarcity-based urgency.

How It Works

Stock Alerts monitor your Shopify inventory in real-time. When stock for a product (or variant) drops below your configured threshold, a message appears:

Configuration

Triggers

  • Stock Threshold: The quantity at which the alert appears (e.g., 5). Alert hides if stock > 5.
  • Update Frequency: How often to sync with Shopify inventory (Default: 15 min).

Visual Styles

  • Alert Type: Low Stock, Limited Quantity, Almost Gone, or Custom.
  • Position: Recommended "Above Add to Cart" for maximum visibility.
  • Animations: Pulse, Shake, or Fade In to grab attention.

Strategies

High Volume Items

Set threshold higher (e.g., 20) for fast-selling items to create urgency earlier.

Clearance

Use "Last Chance" messaging on clearance items to clear dead stock.

Note on Inventory

Fomo Generator creates alerts based on REAL inventory. We do not support "fake scarcity" (e.g., showing 5 left when you have 100), as this violates trust and regulations.
